In the beginning we were just a group of a few friends fascinated by the universe surrounding the reggae culture. For many years we explored festivals and parties outside of the country and from February 2015 we decided to organize such events in Bucharest as well. The objective has always been the development of the reggae and dub local community, quite fragmented and exclusive. We collaborated with most of the Romanian artists who approach this genre and in order to increase the quality, to create interest and eventually to attract a fresh audience, we invited a series of international artists to our parties. A total of over 20 names, the list encompasses a variety of MCs, DJs, selectors, producers and label founders, to ensure we have every time a unique style and new music, in the first audition most of the time. In 2016, we co-organized one of the stages of the BlajAlive festival together with Zona Reggae and as dj/selectors we also participated in other local events like Reggae Fry-day, DuBucuresti, The Urbanist – Milk Crate Diggers, Revolution Festival Timisoara, Airfield, Murmur, Neversea, Electric Castle. The year 2017 was the year of online promotion initiatives: we launched the riddimbandits.ro website where we host a radio, the reggaemusic.ro website, as well as the Facebook page and the Reggae Music Romania group (6000 members) where we are trying to outline a community of ideas, values and rhythms. In 2019 we hand built our own sound system in a DIY fashion being inspired by the JA and UK sound culture. Forward forever!
